Stansted is the third busiest airport in the UK. Built around a single terminal, Stansted serves over 34 airlines and sends flights to 160 destinations around the globe. Located approximately 30 miles north-east of London, Stansted Airport has emerged as the favourite base for many low-cost airlines.
Road access to the airport is most easily obtained by taking either Junction 8 or Junction 8a from the M11.

For security reasons, cars may only use the airport forecourt for dropping off passengers. Any cars that are left unattended will be removed and a retrieval charge will be imposed.
Cars needing to park for less than 15 minutes may use the Pick Up Area opposite the terminal. A minimum charge of £1 applies to this facility and cars that stay longer than the allotted time will incur penalties. Customers that suspect they will need longer than 15 minutes are advised to use one of the other short stay car parks.
Stansted Airport offers three types of car parking facility. If you require parking for less than 24 hours then you will need to use the short stay parking bays. For travellers going on longer holidays than a number of parks located around the perimeter of the airport offer long term parking. As an alternative to long and short stay, Stansted Airport offers a mid stay option for travellers going on shorter breaks or business trips. These "eparking" car parks are situated closer to the main terminal than the long stay bays but have a more expensive tariff. Postcodes for the mid and long stay car parks are as follows:
Passengers using either of the mid or short stay car parks can use the free shuttle bus service to get to the main terminal. The services from the mid stay park run one every 10 minutes, whilst the services between the long stay parks run one every 20 minutes.
