Short Stay Facilities were fine and parking was close to the terminal. However, when we returned to the car at the end of our trip and tried to leave the car park, we were initially unable to do so, as the system did not recognise that we had pre-paid. We had to seek assistance and eventually the barrier was lifted and we were able to leave, but this took several minutes. This is the second time this has occurred, and the reason we will not be booking on-airport parking in the future. Until recently we usually parked in a car park close to the airport and were transferred via a shuttle minibus to the airport. To save time we recently decided to park at the actual airport but the problems and delays with trying to exit the car park , plus the additional expense, have caused us to change back to parking off the airport site.
