Teesside International Airport is one of the UK's fastest growing regional airports. The airport began a huge redevelopment project in 2004 and now contends to be one of the most state-of-the-art regional airports in the country.
The airport began life in 1941 as an RAF base but began taking on commercial duties in 1966 when Queen Margaritha of Sweden headed its ceremonious opening.
Teesside International Airport is situated approximately 6 miles east of Darlington and 24 miles south of Durham. The airport itself is easily accessible from the A1, the A19 and A67.
