The Sofitel is the closest hotel to Gatwick's North terminal - in just 2 minutes, you can stroll to check-in through the walkway which conveniently links the hotel with the airport. For the South terminal, just take the 24-hour inter-terminal monorail which is free, runs every 3 minutes and takes just 2 minutes.
As expected, the rooms at the Sofitel are all furnished to a high standard with extra comfortable beds, pristine en-suite bathrooms and flat-screen satellite TVs. Most of the rooms have superb runway views, but don't worry about the sound - windows are all triple-glazed ensuring you get a peaceful night's sleep. For maximum convenience, you can check out from the Sofitel via the TV in your room so you needn't get up until you really have to.
The Sofitel has a total of three on-site restaurants each with its own individual style. La Brasserie is run by award-winning chef David Woods, who specialises in English cuisine with a French twist. David also oversees the Urban Cafe, a Parisienne-style bistro with generous portion sizes that don't compromise on quality. The Gatwick Oriental, the hotel's pan-Asian restaurant, serves up a wide range of dishes from all over the Orient alongside an extensive wine list.
There are also two on-site bars - the La Terrasse Bar, which is situated in the lobby, is a perfect location to relax with a drink and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the hotel.
