Prestwick Airport (PIK)
Officially called Glasgow Prestwick Airport due to it's close proximity to the city, it is often just referred to as Prestwick Airport. Serving nearly 2.6 million passengers a year, the airport has seen a unprecedented growth due to the boom in low cost airlines. Preswick offers flights to over 30 destinations with eleven airlines based at the airport.
Getting to Prestwick Airport
Prestwick airport is situated close to Prestwick town centre, and is accessible from the A79. Whether travelling from the north or the south, the best way to approach Prestwick is using the A77, from which there are turnings for the A79. Alternatively, visitors to the airport could approach from the nearby town of Ayr - again using the A79.
Prestwick Airport is the only airport in Scotland to have it's own railway station, the Glasgow Prestwick Airport railway station is connected to the terminal via a walkway.

It is security regulation that cars may not stop anywhere in front of the airport, passengers should be dropped off in the designated areas in car parks one and two.
